For this assignment I was somewhat familiar with some of the things present on the website. I remember when I worked for the county, we had to go through disaster preparedness training, because if the time came that was needed we had to volunteer. Until that time I was not really aware of this duty for county employees here at Stanislaus County.
I found the website very informational, I think that this is something people can definitely look into at a time of an emergency. I like how the website is also user friendly by clearly showing different categories, that way you can just go straight to the subject you are interested in.
That's great that you have experience in this area! Now that we have learned this, I too would like to go through training, especially for earthquakes. I feel like this information should be advertised more often, perhaps not many people may know about it.
ReplyDeleteSeriously. As a native East Coaster, I think about earthquakes all the time. I've never felt or experienced one, and I often wonder how I'll react when the next one hits. What if I'm driving? On a bridge or in a tunnel? What if there's a fire in my building? If the city is evacuated and the bridges are out? Your training will probably come in handy at some point in the future.
